Our story
Hi, I’m Bob Lyon.

I’m a native Texan and a dad of three. We live on a small farm in rural Uruguay, where our kids learn by doing. I’ve spent my career building software products, and I love the creative process of making something from nothing.
StrewHub started with my eldest daughter. She learns best when she’s making something real, because she cares how it turns out. I wanted to build her a tool that turns her ideas into plans she can follow, and lets her learn from what other kids have made.
The best minds I know were shaped by tinkering, making and doing. Software makers have long had something wonderful: a huge shared library of work anyone can learn from, build on and improve, and each person’s improvement helps the next. I want kids to have that too, for real things: plans made by families, made better by every kid who builds them.
AI can be a great helper here. It can help draft a plan, draw each step and keep the paperwork. And it works best with a parent in charge: you read and approve every plan before your child sees it, and the real work happens with real materials, off the screen.
StrewHub is funded by the families who use it, so it’s built for them. Imagine thousands of kids, each building on what the last one made. I’d love for your family to be one of the first.
You shouldn’t have to take a stranger’s word on a pre-order. So you can log in the day you join, your $15 is fully refundable until 30 days after launch, and the build log shows what changes every week.
